Today between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., parallel meetings of the four Working Groups of the RCM were virtually held: Protection, Irregular and Massive Migration, Border Management, and Labor Migration. In these sessions, the activity report of each group and the activities proposed for the next year of work were reviewed. Said reports will be presented on December 1, during the Second Meeting of the Regional Consultation Group on Migration (RCGM) for its review, as well as at the XXVI Vice Ministerial Meeting to be held on December 2 and 3 in Mexico City.
The workshop conducted on November 9 and 10 aimed at authorities of the Member Countries learning about the various mechanisms and good practices that currently operate for the search and forensic identification of missing migrants, and repatriation of remains; their origin and operation, conformation and characteristics, interactions, exchanges and information flow at the regional level.
The workshop conducted on November 12 aimed at analyzing the relevance and feasibility of building regional schemes for the recognition and certification of competencies. Representatives of the governments of the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and El Salvador were present to talk about the actions carried out in their respective countries. Additionally, the ILO presented the Qualifications frameworks, which are public and are hosted on its website electronic.
